How to use Google DNS on a computer
1. Windows 10 and Windows 11
Windows 10 and 11 are very similar. Below is a step-by-step
- Access settings
Open the Start Menu, then click on ” Setting” — identified with the gear symbol. - Choose the network and Internet menu
Click on ” Internet and Network” and then click on ” Modify adapter options“. - Select the network
Right-click your active internet connection, and choose ” Property” — Windows might ask for an administrator password. - Open IPv4 Protocol
Click on ” IP Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” to access ” Property“. - Change DNS
Allow the option ” Use these DNS server addresses” to enter the following addresses.-> Primary – 8.8.8.8-> Secondary – 8.8.4.4
2. macOS
- Click on the Apple Menu icon (the apple icon).
- Click System Preferences, then Network
- Click on the active connection.
- To access the tab, click the Advanced link.
- To delete all addresses from the left table, click the (+) button to add more.
- Please enter the following addressesPrimary – 8.8.8.8Secondary – 8.8.4.4
- Confirm the changes.

1. iOS
- Wi-FiOpen iOS Settings and tap the Wi-Fi network icon. Tap the “I” button to reveal more options.

2. Android

How to use Google DNS on your router
Follow these steps to change the router directly.
- View your router’s settingsYou’ll need to enter your device’s IP address. Most often, this address 192.168.0.1 will be functional.
- LoginLog in with your username and password to access the options.
- DNS
Look for the WAN section of router interface. Change DNS address to Primary-> 8.8.8.8 or Secondary-> 8.8.4.4.
Save the changes. Sometimes, the router may need to be restarted in order for the changes to take place.
